STCC - "The Royal Class"
STCC - Swedish Touring Car Championship - is a national motorsport event that holds a very high technical- AND environmental profile. It is one of the largest arena sport events in Sweden with a spectator average of approximately 15.000 per race (peak at 38.000 on the Gothenburg City-race 2008).
STCC is the first championship in the world that is committed to run the STCC-cars only on ethanol (E85) or other bio-fuels. With a clear environmental profile and racing on a high European level, STCC shows that motorsport and environmental interests can be united.
20 drivers, 15 teams and 9 different carbrands makes STCC the championship in the world with most carbrands. The drivers are elite athletes with the most advanced skills within European racing, able of handling their 300.000€ cars at high speeds with millimetre precision.
STCC is broadcasted live on Swedish and
Norweigan television (SVT and NRK) and
covered by some 75-100 journalists and
